Best Gospel Solo Artist Award 2008

 # Grace on My Side: Maestro Ngairo Crowned Best Gospel Solo Artist 2008

It was the announcement that changed everything: **"The Best Gospel Solo Artist 2008 is… Maestro Ngairo!"**

The prize-giving evening, courtesy of **phil419media.com**, was held at **UN-Plazza Hall, Soweto, Windhoek, Namibia** on **10 April 2009** — an unforgettable night honouring the best of 2008. At the helm of the ceremony was the chairman, **Rodman Vezemba Katjaimo**, the former Omurari (NBC) sports programme presenter who is now an elected Katutura councillor.

For Maestro Ngairo — a gospel artist, songwriter and composer with five albums to his name — the road to that stage was neither easy nor ordinary. The competition was fierce, featuring velvet-voiced and golden-toned ladies such as **Sis Key** and **Mizz Kini**. But grace was on his side, and when the final announcement came, victory belonged to him.

In a heartfelt vote of thanks, Maestro Ngairo gave glory to the Almighty Father, the hosts of the awards ceremony, and every person who believed in him. He especially thanked:

- **Mr George**, a man from the coloured community who ran a butchery in Grysblok, Okahandja,

- **Mr Herman Fourie**,

- **Mrs Burger**, the former postmaster who ran an electrical supplier shop and stood as a sponsor,

- and his family, friends, and the entire **Okahandja community**, whose support carried him through.

His message to all who dream: **“Take a challenge — you never know the outcome.”**

From humble beginnings in Okahandja to a national gospel award stage in Windhoek, Maestro Ngairo’s story is proof that talent, faith, and community can take you further than you ever imagined.
