Hostel Life

Hostel Life,is a live i leaved,since 1983,that year i entered the grounds of Spes Bona primary,school hostel,a Roman Catholic runned hostel by than,situated in Otjiwarongo, a norhern town of Namibia, the then,South West Africa, as it was known before we gained our independence from the colonial apartheid,South African regime.hostel life,was for me the very fisrt days a bitter life, because, it was the very first instance to be home-away from my parents,i was not used to it,mostly every start of every term i was crying, when my parents dropped me, at the hostel, to make the matter worse,than come this big guys,because you are a recruit,those guys must take you through and orientation processs,which was a kind of bullying,sometimes, the wetted you bed with cold water,or your meals was confiscated,or is just a false accussation,just for a starting a fight,saying, you said, said you will beat up a certain elder guy, than you were beaten unnessasary,than at school you,met again those certain teacher"s known as good beaters,meals was not sufficient to satisfy you,you must cope with the little,you were ransooned with,after school,just to take out the uniform and starts with the hostel chores, watering the plants,raking the yards,after doinng the chores,if ther is time,it was atleast the time to kick a ball or play,than you shine up,taking a bath to go clean to the dining hall,after dinner,at 19HOO ,you go for study session,after 2 hours of study,you go to bed,five o:clock is time to rise and shine for the breakfast,at 06h30,at seven you should reaport for school,except the bad, hostel life,disciplined us,we learned how to made up our beds,we learned punctuality and responsible as well,we took part in differents kinds of sports codes,you colulnt refuse,or otherwise beatings come in,being forced partaking in any sports codes,groommed us becoming,good athletes an football players,because of the obligatory study sessions,we became good academic achievers,i can give a high five to hostel life,i just urge parents if getting a chance of boarding your child at hostel to grab that moment and to encourage the child to utilise the chance granted in a hostel to good use of studying and farring well academically.
